The Sydney Opera House is one of the most familiar icons in the world of travel. Thanks to a new shimmering stage that is being built near the city’s Royal Botanic Gardens, Bridge & Wickers is offering its clients the opportunity to see opera in Sydney between March 24 and April 15 2012, with a spectacular backdrop of both the Opera House, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and Sydney Harbour.
A vibrant production of Verdi’s La Traviata will be performed for the first time on a massive, purpose-built stage, complete with a giant suspended chandelier, fireworks, and magnificent set and lighting. With many of the singers arriving by boat to attend the opera’s famous masked ball, the production will become one of the essential must-see attractions.
La Traviata, which will be directed by multi-award winning Francesca Zambello, will be staged on most nights (except Mondays) between March 24 and April 15.
